This course is focused on the fundamentals of supply chain management as a business and management tool in managing customer demands, while ensuring the company’s continuous operations. This is also designed to assist students in developing further understanding on this management concept and principle and think strategically, especially in the context of globalization.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is focused on the fundamentals of supply chain management as a business and management tool in managing customer demands, while ensuring the company’s continuous operations. This is also designed to assist students in developing further understanding on this management concept and principle and think strategically, especially in the context of globalization.
OBJECTIVE / VALUES
The course is aimed at helping each student achieve the following:
· To gain a working knowledge of the theory and practice/application of supply chain management within the context of Philippine
and global organization.
· To acquire a meaningful understanding of the dynamics of supply chain management and how it addresses the issues revolving
around inventory management, cost and continuity of operations.
· To appreciate how this powerful tool serves as an integral part of business and management decisions.
· To discussing and providing tools that will aid in the successful application of Supple Chain Management.
· To integrate advance and development in information and business technologies and how these influences or change that supply
chain management landscape.
TEACHING METHODOLOGIES
Reading assignment, lectures, analysis of relevant articles, diagnostic tests, individual assignments, and group assignments and project.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
· Formal testing of at least three (3) long quizzes and final exam
· Answer questions, problems and analysis of topics assigned individually
· Prompt submission of group reports
· Group written and oral presentation of assigned topic
ASSESSMENT / EVALUATION
Daily assessment through review and discussion in class, assignment and group activities shall constitute informal evaluation. Testing through long and final exam shall form part of formal evaluation. Individual and Group oral and written activities shall also be an important opportunity for students to be evaluated in terms of thinking and working creatively as a group.

The group is tasked to prepare a report in Supply Chain Management activities and practices of a chosen Philippine Company.
